Global Bersih is a non-profit organisation established under the Swiss Civil Code. It aims to support Malaysian civil society's efforts to strengthen Malaysia's maturing democracy using peaceful and legal means of action. For Malaysia to progress as a democratic society, the citizen's right to a free and fair elections which is professional , impartial and transparent in all its stages of its administration must be promoted and protected. Global Bersih sees the need to increase public understanding of what free and fair election means, not only to enhance voters' awareness and knowledge, but also to uphold democracy in the country.

Global Bersih ist das internationale Netzwerk für Bersih 2.0,

eine Koalition von fast hundert malaysische auf der ganzen Welt.

Globale Bersih ist in Genf als gemeinnütziger Verein  registriert.

Es ist geboren von einer spontanen weltweiten Unterstützung für

die Anforderungen der Bersih 2.0 Kundgebungen in

Malaysia 2011 und 2012. Global Bersih’s primäre Zweck

ist die Unterstützung der malaysischen Zivilgesellschaft bei

ihren Bemühungen um eine Stärkung der

Malaysia für die Reifung der Demokratie.
